New Delhi: Thailand has indefinitely extended its visa-free entry policy for Indian passport holders, which was initially set to expire on November 11, 2024. This policy permits Indian visitors to stay in Thailand for up to 60 days without a visa, with an option of extending their stay for an additional 30 days at a local immigration office.
The extension was announced for indefinite period by The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the Royal Thai Embassy in New Delhi confirmed that the officials have got the instructions to continue the visa-free-entry policy, as per reports.
“Visa-free entry extension instructions have been given to us,” an embassy official was quoted as saying by English daily.
“We have not been told when this facility will end for Indians,” official added.
The visa-free entry policy, launched in November 2023 by the Thai government has become a major attraction for Indian tourists seeking destinations with less visa restrictions.

Visa-free entry enables tourists to enter a country without requiring a visa in advance or upon arrival. Travelers simply need a valid passport, which will be checked and stamped at immigration. This very simple process eliminates lengthy applications and fees, it benefits both tourists and the destination country’s economy.
