Women’s T20 World Cup 2024

The ninth edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 is hosted by the United Arab Emirates, featuring ten teams from across the globe. The tournament will commence with a group stage divided into two groups of five. After a series of matches, the top two teams from each group will progress to the knockout semi-finals.

The winners of the semi-final matches will face off in the finals, vying for the coveted trophy. Australia has consistently proven to be a dominant force in the Women’s T20 World Cup, and the reigning champions are looking to secure their seventh title.

New entrants, including Scotland, will compete in the tournament for the first time, adding to the excitement.

Originally, the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 was slated to be held in Bangladesh. However, due to significant political turmoil in the country, the tournament’s location was shifted to the UAE. All 23 matches will take place in Sharjah and Dubai, with the final scheduled for October 20.

Despite the venue change, Bangladesh retains the hosting rights and officially kicked off the tournament on October 2, with Pakistan set to compete against Sri Lanka in the evening.

Group A features defending champion Australia, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and New Zealand, while Group B includes South Africa, England, West Indies, Bangladesh, and Scotland.
