Chicago: Vice President Kamala Harris took a dig at her rival Republican nominee and former President Donald Trump, on Day 4 of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Thursday night, while delivering the nomination acceptance speech as the party’s presidential nominee.
Harris while speaking at DNC’s Day 4, warned of the dangers of Trump being in White House with no restraints and his lack of seriousness. She also mentioned of the chaos of his presidency tenure and suggested that his actions since the last election could be even worse. She criticized Trump for attempting to overturn the 2020 election results and for inciting the January 6th Capitol riot, noting his failure to act responsibly that day and his promises to pardon the rioters.
Harris said at DNC that “in many ways, Donald Trump is an unserious man”. She said of ‘the chaos and calamity’ of his time in the White House, and added further of what he has done since the last election may even be worse.
“Just imagine Donald Trump with no guardrails, and how he would use the immense powers of the presidency of the United States, not to improve your life, not to strengthen our national security, but to serve the only client he has ever had himself,” Harris stated.
“He tried to throw away your votes, ”she said, noting his legal efforts to overturn the election results in numerous states in 2020 she further said referring to Capitol Hill riots, “when he failed in that effort, he sent an armed mob to the Capitol”.
Harris also accused Trump of prioritizing tax breaks for the wealthy and serving his own interests rather than the American people. She argued that the consequences of a second Trump presidency would be severe, stressing that his actions during his first term were damaging and dangerous.
