Hassan Nasrallah Eliminated, Israeli Defence Forces Issue Statement

On the death of the Hezbollah Chief, the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) has issued a statement which reads, “The IDF announces that yesterday (Friday), September 27th, 2024, Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the Hezbollah terrorist organization and one of its founders, was eliminated by the IDF, together with Ali Karki, the Commander of Hezbollah’s Southern Front, and additional Hezbollah commanders.

Following precise intelligence from the IDF and Israeli security establishment, IAF fighter jets conducted a targeted strike on the Central Headquarters of the Hezbollah terrorist organization, which was located underground embedded under a residential building in the area of Dahieh in Beirut. The strike was conducted while Hezbollah’s senior chain of command were operating from the headquarters and advancing terrorist activities against the citizens of the State of Israel.

During Hassan Nastallah’s 32-year reign as the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, he was responsible for the murder of many Israeli civilians and soldiers, and the planning and execution of thousands of terrorist activities. He was responsible for directing and executing terrorist attacks around the world in which civilians of various nationalities were murdered. Nasrallah was the central decision-maker and the strategic leader of the organization.

The Hezbollah terrorist organization, headed by Hassan Nasrallah, joined the Hamas terrorist organization in its war against the State of Israel on October 8th. Since then, Hezbollah has been continuing its ongoing and unprovoked attacks on the citizens of the State of Israel, dragging the State of Lebanon and the entire region into a wider escalation.

The IDF will continue operating against anyone who promotes and engages in terrorism against the State of Israel and its people.”

Who is Hassan Nasrallah?

Hassan Nasrallah is the Chief or Secretary General of Hezbollah, the Iran-backed Lebanese militant group. Born in Beirut on August 31, 1960, Nasrallah is a son of a fruits and vegetable seller. While completing his education, Hassan Nasrallah joined Amal Movement a Shia political group in Lebanon for a brief period.

Nasrallah joined Hezbollah after the 1982 Israeli invasion of Lebanon and in 1991, he replaced Musawi as the Chief of Hezbollah following the latter’s death in an Israeli airstrike the following year. Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah has led the Lebanese militant group for the past three decades, transforming it into one of the most powerful paramilitary groups in the Middle East.

Idolized by his Lebanese Shiite followers and respected by millions of others across the Arab and Islamic world, Nasrallah holds the title of sayyid, an honorific meant to signify the Shiite cleric’s lineage dating back to the Prophet Muhammad, the founder of Islam. A fiery orator viewed as an extremist in the United States and much of the West, he is also considered a pragmatist compared to the militants who dominated Hezbollah after its founding in 1982, during Lebanon’s civil war. Despite the power he wields, Nasrallah has lived largely in hiding for fear of an Israeli assassination.
