New Delhi: Shah Rukh Khan, Tamil superstar Vijay, Salman Khan and Virat Kohli are among the highest taxpayers among and the film industry and sportspersons for the previous financial year 2023-24, Fortune India magazine reported. Notably, SRK topped the chart of highest taxpayers list as he paid Rs 92 crore tax. As per the Forbes list, Tamil superstar ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay was ranked second highest celebrity taxpayers in the country. The megastar paid Rs 80 crore in tax.
Vijay was followed by Hindi Film industry stars Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachchan, who were third and fourth highest tax paying celebrities respectively. While Salman paid Rs 75 crore in taxes, the millennium superstar paid Rs 71 crore as taxes.
Indian cricketer Virat Kohli not only heads the list of cricketers but he also tops the list of Indian sports persons who paid maximum tax for the financial year 2023-24. Cricketing legend, Sachin Tendulkar and former India Cricket captain Sourav Ganguly also feature in the list. While the batting maestro paid Rs 28 crore as tax, former BCCI chief Ganguly paid Rs 23 crore. Former Team India captain MS Dhoni paid Rs 38 crore in taxes.
