New Delhi: An unexpected and uninvited guest came into say hello to cricket players during a recent County Championship Division One 2024 match between Durham and Kent. Although, incidents of such sort keeping happening on the cricket field but not frequently and whenever they do happen, slight change in mood is observed where the cricketers and the spectacular enjoy the funny game.
On Day 3 of the County Championship game, a dog came out on the field and interrupted the play for a moment before it resumed again. The hilarious incident took place in the 52nd over of the game which was bowled by Jaskaran Singh. The came onto the field, stood there for few seconds before running back off the field. The funny moment was captured on camera and within no time, went viral on social media.
Not only during domestic or county cricket matches, dogs have been noticed invading the ground in many soccer games as well in the past, videos of which have taken the internet by storm, similar to this one.

Alex Lees stars for Durham
Kent, after winning the toss, opted to bowl first at the Riverside ground. At the end of the third day’s play, Durham had scored 324 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 70 overs. Skipper Alex Lees led from the front, top-scoring for the side with 144-run knock off 180 deliveries. His special innings was laced with 18 boundaries as he dominated the bowlers right from the word go.
Apart from the skipper, David Bedingham scored 66 runs while Emilion Gay smashed a knock of 52. The other batters in the camp could not put up a good show and got dismissed on low scores. For Kent, Matt Parkinson emerged as the top bowler as he claimed two wickets while other bowlers in the team picked a wicket each to offer their contributions.
