  • 4 cups water

How to Make Red Sauce Pasta

Boiling the Pasta

  1. Start by boiling 4 cups of water in a saucepan. Once the water begins to boil, add salt as needed.
  2. Add 1 cup of pasta. (This recipe uses whole wheat pasta, but if you are using a different type, refer to the instructions on the pasta box for the best cooking method.)
  3. Cook the pasta on a medium flame.
  4. Reserve 3/4 cup of the pasta’s cooking water and set it aside.
