Moong Dal chilla recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup yellow moong dal (soaked for 3–4 hours)
  • 1–2 green chillies
  • ½ inch ginger piece
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • Water
  • ¼ cup finely chopped onions
  • ¼ cup grated carrots
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  • Oil or ghee for cooking
  • Chopped spinach or methi leaves
  • Grated beetroot
  • Paneer or tofu filling

Steps to prepare at home:

  1. Rinse and soak moong dal in water for 4 hours.
  2. Take a blender and add green chillies, moong dal, cumin seeds and a little water to blend well.
  3. Prepare a smooth batter with pourable consistency.
  4. Now in a bowl, add the mix and add salt, chopped onions, carrots, and coriander leaves.
  5. Mix well to form a thick batter.
  6. Heat the non-stick pan and add a little ghee to it.
  7. Pour a ladle of batter and let it cook until golden brown.
  8. Cook on medium heat for 3 minutes and flip it over.
  9. Serve hot with green chutney or yoghurt for a healthy breakfast.
