New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday unfurled the national flag for the 11th time in a row and emphasised on his goal for ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047. Addressing the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the 78th Independence Day, PM Modi said today, the new employment opportunities are knocking on the doors of India’s youth and the country’s youth are now leaping into a golden era and reaching new heights. If the youth of this country hold on to this opportunity with grit and hope of fulfilling their dreams, then we’ll achieve the goal of making India a developed nation by 2047, he exhorted.
PM Modi on Viksit Bharat 2047
He cited his government’s success in contributing to the world economy, saying India’s contribution in global growth has increased and the data states the country’s exports have gone up.
Reforms in governance have to be pushed to realise the goal of 2047. The delivery system in governance has to be strengthened, PM Modi said.
“’Viksit Bharat 2047′ are not mere words, they are a reflection of the resolve and dreams of 140 crore people,” PM Modi said, adding “Suggestions have been collected from citizens, and crore of people gave suggestions for Developed India 2047. The dreams of every citizen and their confidence is reflected in those suggestions.”
Path of reforms chosen by us has become a blueprint for growth and not just for debate clubs, PM Modi emphasised in his Independence Day speech.
Middle Class
Addressing the ‘Middle class’, the prime minister said this section of the society gives a lot to the nation and in return expects quality life. He assured the middle class that his government will ensure minimum government interference.
PM Modi said his government has worked to break the mindset of living with the status quo by rolling out big reforms aimed at changing the lives of the middle class and the poor.
Banking sector
Commenting on the banking sector of the country in his Independence Day speech, PM Modi said several reforms have been made to strengthen the banking sector. “Consequently, our banks have established their presence among the strongest banks in the world. When the bank services are strong the strength of the formal economy also increases. Banks play an important role in fulfilling the aspirations of the middle class families of the country,” he stated.
“Just imagine what was the condition of our banking sector. There was no growth, no expansion, and there was no faith (in the banking system). Our banks were going through difficult times…We took big reforms to make the banking sector strong. Today, because of the reforms, our banks are among the few strong banks globally,” PM Modi said.
Infrastructure and Fintech
The nation feels proud when the world wants to learn from its achievements in the fintech sector, he said. special focus on improving the infrastructure of the country, PM Modi said his government has taken big steps towards modernising infrastructure, and also given priority to ease of living.
Women empowerment
He also touched upon the women empowerment issue, saying 10 crore sisters have joined women self-help groups and are becoming economically independent in the last 10 years.
