New Delhi: One of India’s biggest and finest all-rounders in white-ball cricket Yuvraj Singh remains a powerful figure in the country’s cricket history. Apart from white-ball cricket, the Indian legend also played 40 Test matches for India but never managed to leave a mark in the red-ball cricket.
Yuvraj has scored 1900 runs at an average of 33.93, including 3 centuries and 11 fifties. He made a few key contributions to the team in Test cricket. His hundred against Pakistan during the 2004 tour made him a valuable asset. Yuvraj was also part of India’s squad for the 4-match Test series against Australia in 2007/08.
The series was famous for the ‘Monkeygate’ scandal and there was a lot of tension between both teams on and off the field. The Men in Blue fought hard in the series but the hosts won the series by 2-1. For Yuvraj, this series became important not just for the on-field drama but for personal reasons as well.

During an appearance on the Club Prairie Fire podcast, Yuvraj said that he was dating an actress during the Australia tour and he told her that they would not meet for a bit as he was playing the series and needed to focus on cricket but the actress followed him to Canberra in the bus.
“I was dating an actress, I won’t name her; (She is) very good at the moment and very experienced. She was shooting in Adelaide. I told her, listen, let’s not meet for a bit because I’m on Australia tour, and need to focus. She followed me to Canberra in the bus. In two Tests, I didn’t get many runs. And I was like, ‘what are you doing here?’ And she was like, ‘I want to spend time with you” Yuvraj began.
Yuvraj further added that he met her in the night and they chatted for a long time. He told her to focus on her career and the team was leaving for Adelaide from Canberra in the morning so she packed his suitcase.
“So, I met her in the night and we began chatting. I told her you need to focus on your career and I need to focus on mine, because I’m on Australia tour and you know what that means. Anyway, we were leaving for Adelaide from Canberra and she packed my suitcase” he added.
In the morning Yuvraj was looking for his shoes but the actress said she packed them inside and Yuvraj had to wear her pink slip-ons. The former cricket refused to share her name but as per the rumours, he was dating Deepika Padukone at that time.
