New Delhi: The Indian men’s cricket team have confirmed its spot in the semifinal stage of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 from Group A. The development came after New Zealand defeated Bangladesh by five wickets in the Match No. 6 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Monday.

India have won both their matches so far in the tournament against Bangladesh and Pakistan. The Rohit Sharma-led side currently sits on the second spot with two wins and four points with a net-run-rate (NRR) of 0+6.47.

New Zealand, on the other hand, also confirmed their qualification to the last four stage on the virtue of their back-to-back wins against Pakistan and Bangladesh. The Black Caps currently hold the top spot in Group A with a superior NRR of +0.863.

India and New Zealand have one more game left and the two teams will clash on March 2 to decide the top spot of their group in order to determine the semifinal matchups.

Meanwhile, Pakistan and Bangladesh are officially eliminated from the tournament after failing to register a single win in their matches against India and New Zealand.
