New Delhi: Indian MMA fighter Anshul Jubli is set to make his return to the UFC against Australian fighter Quillan Salkilld in the UFC 312 pay-per-view at the Qudos Bank Arena in Syden on February 9, Sunday.
Jubli is the first Indian star to represent India on the global stage and will make his much-awaited return. Jubli lost his first UFC bout against Mike Breeden in the UFC 294 event way back in October 2023.
After that loss, Jubli took his time to relax and went to rehab as well because of his injuries during the first UFC fight. The 29-year-old fighter was set to make his return early after his first loss but due to injuries, he re-scheduled his return.
This will be a great opportunity for Anhsul to make his mark in the UFC after his debut fight. He is 7-1 in his professional MMA career and 0-1 in his UFC career.
Sailkilld is an Australian fighter and this will be his debut fight in the UFC. He will be in front of his home crowd, which will boost his confidence before the fight. The Jubli vs Sailkilld fight is on the preliminary card of the UFC 312 event.
The Australian fighter is also 7-1 in his professional MMA career and has yet to taste a defeat in his last six fights. The fight will be in the lightweight division and both fighters are unranked in the division.
In the main event of UFC 312, Middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis will defend his title against Sean Strickland. This will be the rematch between both fighters, in the first fight Du Plessis defeated Strickland and won the Middleweight championship. Strickland will eye to win back his title against South African fighter.
