They managed to secure a spot in quarter-finals by playing a draw with Scotland. In the quarterfinal, they faced Hungary, whom they beat 69-24 followed by a 93-37 semi-final victory over Wales before heading into the final.

The women’s team was no less in the tournament and showcased their dominance to the world with a one-sided win in the final. They started their campaign by beating Wales in the group stage, followed by a clinical win over Poland. In the semi-final, they faced Hong Kong China and beat them by 53-15, securing their place in the final and beating England subsequently.

The tournament was staged outside Asia for the first time and saw the top kabaddi teams of the world competing across the West Midlands, with matches in Birmingham, Coventry, Walsall, and Wolverhampton.

This was the second edition of the tournament which was held from 17th to 23rd March. It’s inaugural edition was held in 2019 in Malaysia where India had won both the men’s and women’s crowns.
