India moves to front rank in 6G patent files: First Asian country to hold WTSA

Data travelling at speeds 1,000 times faster than 5G telecom networks!!! If you are already overwhelmed with the speed of 5G technology, imagine what 6G technology can do to you. Swedish MNC Ericsson has mentioned that one could expect this technology to be rolled out by 2030.

The point of interest is India has quietly joined the race to develop 6G technology and has started filing patents related to this emerging frontier technology. According to reports, going by the number of patent applications, India stands 6th among the league of nations.

First event in Asia

India’s role in developing 6G tech will come in focus between October 15 and 24, when the country will host the World Telecommunications Standardisation Assembly (WTSA) in the national capital, where delegates from as many as 190 countries will congregate. India will be the first Asian country to organise this prestigious event. On the discussion table will be frontier technology like 6G, AI (artificial intelligence) and handling big data.

Quite incomprehensible to human senses, 6G is expected to achieve progress over 5G in terms of speed, latency and superior capacity. The technology is also expected to better support AI and machine learning tools. Incidentally, in the domain of telecom, latency refers to the time taken for data to travel from one point to another across a network.

The high-profile event will be held at the International Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre at Pragati Maidan. Incidentally, this is the same venue where the G-20 Summit was organised in September last year.

Experts from around the world

Experts from all the technologically-advanced countries from the world including Germany, China, the US, England, Russia will participate to discuss the latest advances in different fields such as future of innovation, preventing fraud using secure telephony signalling framework, implementation of blockchain secure authentication, fostering public services & industry innovation.

Digital investments to food security

Some of the interesting topics that will be discussed will include “how global minimal interoperability standards can help cities and communities of any size make the best of digital investments”; “digital agriculture: establishing AI standards for global food security”.

If you are overwhelmed by 5G speeds, please be informed that 6G technology is quietly shaping up and India has keenly joined the race with significant patent applications.  Biz News Business News – Personal Finance News, Share Market News, BSE/NSE News, Stock Exchange News Today
