IndiGo to release Q1 2024-25 Results on July 26

New Delhi: IndiGo, India’s largest airline, is set to announce its First Quarter Fiscal Year 2024-25 Results on July 26, 2024. The company will conduct a 60-minute conference call at 17:00 IST, open to investors and analysts worldwide. Senior management will discuss the company’s performance and address participants’ questions.

For the quarter ended March 2024, IndiGo had delivered another quarter of strong financial performance, reporting a net profit of INR 18,948 million. Capacity increased by 4% to 34.8 billion, and the number of passengers remained steady at 26.7 million. Yield increased to INR 5.19, and the load factor improved by 2.1 points to 86.3%. Revenue from operations saw a 9% increase to INR 178,253 million. Notably, there was a reduction in fuel CASK by 9% to INR 1.72, while CASK excluding fuel increased by 7% to INR 2.90. EBITDA for the quarter stood at INR 44,123 million, representing a 24.8% EBITDAR margin. Excluding foreign exchange losses, the profit amounted to INR 20,602 million, a significant increase from INR 6,664 million in the same period last year.

For the last quarter of 2023-24, IndiGo reported substantial growth with capacity increasing by 8% to 139.3 billion and passengers increasing by 7% to 106.7 million. Revenue from operations increased by 6% to INR 689,043 million. EBITDA for the year was INR 175,447 million, with a 25.5% EBITDAR margin, compared to INR 73,116 million the previous year. Excluding foreign exchange losses, the profit amounted to INR 88,899 million. The net profit for the year was INR 81,725 million, compared to a net loss of INR 3,058 million the previous year.

CEO Pieter Elbers expressed his satisfaction with the company’s performance, highlighting the highest ever total income of around INR 712 billion and a net profit margin of 11.9% for FY24. Elbers attributed the success to the strong execution of IndiGo’s strategy and the dedication of its employees.

IndiGo’s total income for the quarter ended March 2024 was INR 185,051 million, a 26.7% increase from the same period last year. Passenger ticket revenues were INR 156,009 million, and ancillary revenues were INR 17,194 million. As of March 31, 2024, IndiGo had a total cash balance of INR 347,375 million, comprising INR 208,230 million of free cash and INR 139,145 million of restricted cash. The capitalized operating lease liability was INR 434,886 million, and the total debt, including this liability, was INR 512,800 million.

The fleet size as of March 31, 2024, was 367 aircraft, including various models such as A320 CEOs, A320 NEOs, A321 NEOs, ATRs, A321 freighters, and B777s. IndiGo operated up to 2,021 daily flights during the quarter, providing scheduled services to 88 domestic and 30 international destinations. The airline maintained a technical dispatch reliability of 91%, an on-time performance of 94% at key metros, and a flight cancellation rate of 0.06%.
