Involvement of a person in Jaffarpur village of Gurdaspur district in the smuggling of drugs and weapons

Punjab police’s Counter Intelligence unit in Amritsar seized six kg heroin, 67 live cartridges of .30 bore and two magazines even as the accused fled, DGP Gaurav Yadav said on Sunday.

The police also recovered six mobile phones from the bag thrown by the accused, said the DGP. The police had received a tip-off about the involvement of a person in Jaffarpur village of Gurdaspur district in the smuggling of drugs and weapons from across the border.


DGP said “police teams conducted a raid in Jaffarpur but the accused escaped after throwing away his bag”.
