New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) paid tribute to the Indian armed forces ahead of the Indian Premier League 2025 clash between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) in Dharamshala on Thursday. Acclaimed singer and composer B Praak delivered a live performance saluting the bravery and courage of the Indian armed forces, also celebrating the country’s cultural spirit.
The evening of the match was immersed in patriotism with the picturesque HPCA stadium resonating with soulful melodies and anthems. The tribute comes in the wake of the armed forces launching ‘Operation Sindoor’ on May 7, which targeted terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. India’s attack was a response to the terrorist attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, Kashmir, where 26 tourists were killed by militants.

Earlier, the Indian Premier League had issued a statement regarding the same saying that it will be a tribute to the heart of Bharat. ‘Dharamshala, get ready to sing with pride! B Praak brings the nation’s sound on a night of patriotism and notes echoing India’s spirit. With soulful melodies and powerful anthems, unite to celebrate our great culture. ‘A tribute to the heart of Bharat,’ read a statement from the IPL.
After getting a clearance from the Indian government, the BCCI decided to go ahead with the match between PBKS and DC at Dharamshala on May 8. However, another fixture between Punjab and Mumbai Indians slated to take place at the same venue on May 11, Sunday has been shifted to Ahmedabad, Narendra Modi Stadium. If Punjab win the crucial clash, they will be the first team to qualify for the playoffs while a loss will put Delhi in contention with 15 points.
