IPL 2025 mega auction: RCB rope in Rasikh Salam Dar for Rs 6cr, Mohit Sharma sold to DC for Rs 2.4cr

New Delhi: After letting go of experienced Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj, Royal Challengers Bengaluru went all out to sign uncapped Indian pacer Rasikh Salam Dar at the IPL 2025 mega auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Sunday, November 24. RCB bought Rasikh for Rs 6 crore, making him the most expensive pick among uncapped pacers who were part of set 11 at the mega auction.

Rasikh was part of the Delhi Capitals last season and picked up 8 wickets in 9 matches for his former team. The uncapped pacer from Jammu & Kashmir has played 11 matches in his IPL career so far and has 9 wickets to his name. Nonetheless, he was a wanted man at the IPL 2025 mega auction on Sunday as the likes of RCB, DC and Sunrisers Hyderabad fought for his signature.

Rasikh was initially sold to RCB for Rs 2 crore but they had to raise their bid after DC decided to use their RTM option for the pacer. RCB eventually raised the bid to Rs 6 crore which cooled down DC’s interest in their former player as they decided not to match the final bid. Rasikh will join the likes of Josh Hazlewood and Yash Dayal in RCB’s pace attack for IPL 2025.

Mohit Sharma returns to DC, KKR get back Vaibhav Arora

The experienced Mohit Sharma, who did exceptionally well for Gujarat Titans in the last couple of seasons, was bought back by his former franchise Delhi Capitals for Rs 2.40 crore. Mohit picked up 27 wickets in 14 matches for GT in IPL 2023, helping them reach the final of the season. He scalped 13 wickets for 12 matches for GT in IPL 2024.

Meanwhile, KKR managed to get back talented uncapped Indian pacer Vaibhav Arora for Rs 1.80 crore at the IPL 2025 mega auction. Arora played his part in KKR’s IPL 2024 title triumph earlier this year with 11 wickets in 10 matches for the three-time champions.

Punjab Kings made two smart buys as they bought uncapped pacers Yash Thakur and Vijaykumar Vyshak to bolster their pace attack. PBKS spent Rs 1.80 crore to sign Vyshak while spending Rs 1.60 crore to secure the services of Thakur, who turned up for Lucknow Super Giants last season.

Rajasthan Royals went hard to sign uncapped left-arm pacer Akash Madhwal for Rs 1.20 crore while former CSK pacer Simarjeet Singh was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 1.50 crore.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) bought uncapped Indian pacer Rasikh Salam Dar for Rs 6 crore on Day 1 of the IPL 2025 mega auction on Sunday.
