New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bengaluru talisman Virat Kohli completed 13,000 T20 runs in their Indian Premier League 2025 game against Mumbai Indians.
After Mumbai won the toss decided to bowl at the Wankhede Stadium, Kohli opened the RCB innings with Phil Salt. The 36-year-old then cracked a 42-ball 67, with the help of eight boundaries and two sixes.
On the way he became the fifth batter to complete 13000 T20 runs and also the second-fastest to the landmark. Kohli is also the first Indian batter to reach the milestone.
The former India skipper joins an elite list of Chris Gayle, Alex Hales, Shoaib Malik and Kieron Pollard to have scored over 13,000 runs in T20 cricket.
Former West Indies opener Gayle was the first to reach the mark while appearing for Jamaica Tallawahs against Barbados Tridents in a Caribbean Premier League (CPL) match in 2019.

In the ongoing IPL 2025, the right handed batter has been in good form, scoring 97 runs in RCB’s first three matches, at an average of 48.50 and a strike-rate of 134.72.
In the opening game of the tournament against defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) away at the Eden Gardens, Kohli smashed 59 off 36 balls, studded with four boundaries and three sixes.

His knock helped RCB chase down 175 balls with 22 balls left to b played and get a winning start. He followed it up a 31-run kncok against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) away at the Chepauk, guiding RCB to a 50-run win.
Kohli managed only seven runs against Gujarat Titans in RCB’s eight-wicket.
