New Delhi: Rishabh Pant produced an impressive backflip to celebrate in style after smashing his first century for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their final league game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Tuesday, May 27. Pant smashed a 54-ball ton, the fastest by an LSG batter in the history of the IPL.
Pant smashed a scintillating knock of unbeaten 118 runs off 61 balls to end his woeful run in the ongoing IPL 2025 and power LSG to a huge total of 227/3 in their final match of the season. The swashbuckling left-hander, who was struggling throughout the season, roared back to form in style with a stunning ton, which had glimpses of his unorthodox strokeplay and his aggressive approach.
Pant, who walked out to bat at no.3 against RCB, looked determined and confident as he got off to a flyer, racing to 19 off just 8 balls. The left-hander raced to his fifty off just 29 balls before converting it into a sublime ton. Pant completed his ton off just 54 balls with a four against Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the 18th over and finished with an unbeaten 118.
His 118-run knock was laced with 8 sixes and 11 fours as the LSG skipper redeemed a horrendous batting season with a magnificent knock to end his campaign on a high. Pant seemed to have saved his best for the last for LSG and celebrated his 2nd IPL hundred with a signature backflip. The left-hander did a backflip amid loud cheers from the home crowd and the LSG dug out at the Ekana Stadium.

Pant, Marsh help LSG post 227/3 against RCB
Pant promoted himself up in the order after LSG lost debutant opener Matthew Breetzke cheaply on 14 in the Powerplay following a 25-run stand between him and Mitchell Marsh for the first wicket. The LSG skipper combined with Marsh to add a brilliant partnership of 152 runs for the second wicket to set the stage for a big total for LSG.
While Pant remained unbeaten till the end of LSG’s innings with his 118 not out, Marsh continued his purple patch with an impressive knock of 67 runs off just 37 balls, studded with five sixes and 4 fours. The duo’s 152-run stand for the second wicket helped LSG post a massive total of 227/3 on the board in 20 overs.
