New Delhi: The BCCI men’s selection panel on Tuesday announced the Rest of India’s squad for their Irani Cup 2024 clash against Ranji Trophy champions Mumbai. Ruturaj Gaikwad, who led India C in the recently concluded Duleep Trophy 2024, has been named the captain of the Rest of India team with Abhimanyu Easwaran serving as his deputy.
The selectors have also picked wicket-keeper batter Dhruv Jurel and left-arm pacer Yash Dayal in the Rest of India squad with their availability being subject to their participation in the 2nd Test between India and Bangladesh at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. Both Dayal and Jurel were retained in India’s squad for the second Test of the two-match series against Bangladesh.
While the 2nd Test between India and Bangladesh will start on September 27, the Irani Cup match between Mumbai and the Rest of India will be played at the Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Stadium in Lucknow from October 1 to 5. Jurel and Dayal will be released for the Irani Cup match if they are not named in India’s playing XI for the 2nd Test against Bangladesh.

Ruturaj Gaikwad will be leading the Rest of India sqaud in the Irani Cup 2024 against Mumbai. Pacer Yash Dayal and wicket-keeeper batter Dhruv Jurel, who are currently part of the Indian Test team, have also been selected in the Rest of India squad. Their availability will be subject to their participation in the 2nd Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur.
