New Delhi: Mumbai Indians (MI) have been handed a massive boost as ace fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has linked up with the rest of the squad ahead of their clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Mumbai Indians took to social media to announce Bumrah’s arrival in style on Sunday.
Bumrah was undergoing rehab at BCCI’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru after recovering from a back injury that he sustained during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 in Australia. Bumrah injured his back during the fifth Test between India and Australia in Sydney in January this year and was since sidelined from action.
He was expected to return to full fitness before the Champions Trophy 2025 but was eventually ruled out of the tournament and was replaced by spinner Varun Chakaravarthy. Bumrah has already missed Mumbai Indians’ first four matches in the ongoing IPL 2025 and will be hoping to return to action soon. However, he is reportedly unlikely to play against RCB as he must undergo a few match simulations before returning to match action.
