New Delhi: John Cena announced his comeback in the WWE as he will be participating in Royal Rumble 2025. It will be his last Royal Rumble match, as in WrestleMania he will be retiring from WWE. WWE shared a post on their social media stating Cena’s last Royal Rumble.
Cena revealed his retirement tour at the WWE Money in the Bank event that this will be his last run in WWE. He is also appearing in WWE’s first episode on Netflix in January 2025. Cena is a 16-time World Champion, and WWE officials are also thinking of giving Cena a title shot in the Cena’s last run in WWE.
Cena replied to the WWE’s Royal Rumble post, “Those are strong words—’The’last time is now’.” In 2025, there will be a myriad of historical events. The last time I will ever compete in a Royal Rumble event is February 1st, Lucas Oil Stadium, in Indianapolis, Indiana. And you want to make sure you’re there. It is my last Royal Rumble as the road to WrestleMania kicks off.”
It will not be confirmed that Cena will be fighting in the titular match, but it will be a great moment for Cena’s fans if he returns to the WWE as the surprise entry in the Rumble match.
How many times has John Cena won a Royal Rumble match?
John Cena is one of the few fighters who has won the Royal Rumble twice in his career. First Cena won the Royal Rumble match in 2008, where he came from an injury as a number 30 entrant and won the match.
After five years in 2013, Cena again won the Royal Rumble match. This time also he came in at number 30 and eliminated Ryback to win the match and headline the WrestleMania after that. Cena will be looking to achieve a rare feat by becoming the second fighter to win Royal Rumble three times after Stone Cold Steve Austin.
