New Delhi: Legendary South Africa cricketer Jonty Rhodes is a frequent traveller to India, notably for his love of the nation and the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), which he coaches as well. He has several good friends here with whom he fancies meetings. But… his recent travel to Delhi was not pleasant at all, as revealed by him on his social media.
The flight ordeals among commoners were a common problem but it seems that the sportspersons too are getting bothered by the airlines they are choosing to fly with. Recent accounts of cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle and India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin lashing out at IndiGo Airlines made headlines. Rhodes, who opted for Air India to fly him from Mumbai to Delhi shared the ordeal he faced and why he is not looking forward to the next “36 hours”.
Taking to his social media handle on “X” (formerly Twitter), he slammed Air India over a flight delay and for making him sign a waiver for his broken seat on the plane, which seemingly frustrated him. Rhodes said he is “not looking forward to the next 36 hours” since it involved a return flight to Mumbai from Delhi and another one straight back to Cape Town from Mumbai.
“My flying bad luck continues – not only is my @airindia flight from Mumbai to Delhi over 1.5hrs delayed, but now I just signed a waiver as I board stating I accept that my seat is broken. #whyme. Not looking forward to the next 36hrs with a return to Mumbai from Delhi and straight onto my @flyethiopian return flight to Cape Town #मुकद्दर,” Rhodes wrote.
