Washington: Donald Trump‘s eldest son sparred with a reporter during the Republican National Convention after he was asked about his father being a “divisive figure.” Calling the media network “clowns,” Donald Trump Jr asked the reporter to “get out of here” and said that his channel propagated “lies and nonsense.”
This comes as Donald Trump was officially nominated as the presidential candidate for Republicans in the upcoming Presidential elections.
The video shows that the reporter purportedly from MSNBC, asked Donald Trump Jr what the second term would look like for his father, especially given he was a “divisive figure” as president during his first term.
To this, the Don Jr said, “I don’t think he was a divisive figure at all; the media created the divisiveness around him.”
He further alleged that the American media “lied” about Trump’s Russian collusion.
“They called him a traitor, went after him in every which way is possible,” he went on to say.
Additionally, Don Jr claimed that if the media started playing an “honest role” then it would talk about all the good stuff the former president had done.
“If the media actually starts playing an honest role or talks about the things that he did, the prosperity he brought, the peace deals that he signed around the world rather than the disaster we’re living right now, you’d do everyone in the country a big favour.”
Furthermore, when the reporter asked Don Jr if his father would attempt to separate migrant children from their parents after crossing the border, which led to a heated exchange.
Don Jr who was standing with his brother Eric Trump linked the question to the Obama administration to the same immigration tactic, leading the media person to cut in, saying, “You know they didn’t do that, sir.”
Hearing this, Don Jr tore in and said, “It’s MSDNC so I expect nothing less from you clowns. Even today, even 48 hours later, you couldn’t wait, you couldn’t wait with your lies and with your nonsense.”
“So, just get out of here,” the eldest son of the Republican candidate concluded with a wave of his hand.
