New Delhi: Legendary England player Kevin Pietersen has been appointed as the mentor of the Delhi Capitals (DC) franchise for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The 2025 edition of the cash-rich league will begin from March 22, Saturday with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) kicking off the event.
The 44-year-old player will join the Capitals support staff which includes the Director of Cricket Venugopal Rao, head coach Hemang Badani, assistant coach Matthew Mott and bowling coach Munaf Patel. The franchise made the announcement on its app but is yet to finalise a captain for the upcoming edition of the league.

Pietersen’s first coaching assignment
The experienced Kevin Pietersen has never coached a side and this will be his first coaching assignment in the cash-rich league. The English veteran last played in the IPL in 2016.
