‘King kar lega’: Babar Azam trolled after getting bowled by spinner in practice match

New Delhi: Babar Azam has been enduring a rough patch with the bat as his poor form continues. The Pakistan white-ball captain recently took part in a practice match in a local tournament but failed to turn a corner as he was once again dismissed cheaply. Babar was brutally trolled after a left-arm spinner got the better of him in the practice match.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, Babar can be seen getting cleaned up by a brilliant delivery from the spinner. Babar took part in a practice match ahead of the Champions Cup tournament in Pakistan which will feature the top cricketers in the country. He was expected to regain his rhythm after a poor show in the recently concluded Test series against Bangladesh. However, he failed to fire.

Babar was bowled by a left-arm spinner Mohammad Asghar in the match after trying to play an unorthodox reverse sweep shot against him. The Pakistan white-ball captain was slammed by many for his poor shot after the video caught the attention of fans.

Babar endured a poor outing in Pakistan’s recently concluded Test series against Bangladesh at home where he managed only 64 runs in two matches. He has failed to notch up a century in Tests since December 2022 and has been struggling with consistency. The Pakistan white-ball skipper was dismissed thrice by pacers and once by spinner Shakib-Al-Hasan in the Test series against Bangladesh.

Babar will aim to bounce back in Champions One-Day Cup

Babar will be hoping to regain his form and get back among the runs when he returns to action in the Champions One-Day Cup which is set to get underway in Pakistan from Thursday, September 12. Babar will be playing Mohammad Haris-led Stallions in the domestic one-day tournament. PCB’s decision to not keep Babar as captain of the side came as a surprise to many and the star batter will be hoping to prove his critics wrong.
