New Delhi: India thrashed Bangladesh by 50 runs in their second Super Eight clash of the T20 World Cup 2024 on Saturday to inch closer to a spot in the semi-finals of the showpiece event. It was a clinical victory for India which saw the bowlers produce another excellent display as the likes of Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav continued their impressive run in the tournament.
Emotions were running high on both ends as Bangladesh players looked fired up during India’s innings. It all started when Bangladesh pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib cleaned up Virat Kohli and celebrated wildly while Shakib Al Hasan also looked pumped up after dismissing Indian skipper Rohit Sharma. Indians gave it back as Kuldeep sledged Bangladesh opener Tanzid Hasan after dismissing him.
Kuldeep broke the partnership between Tanzid and Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto in the tenth over to bag the second wicket for India. Tanzid was trapped lbw by the left-arm spinner after scoring 29 off 31 balls. Kuldeep was seen giving the Bangladesh opener a cold send-off and sledging him after dismissing him. The video of his gesture went viral on social media.

Kuldeep opened his account in the game with the wicket of Tanzim before picking up the important wickets of Towhid Hridoy and Shakib Al Hasan to help India comfortably defend the total of 196 runs and hand Bangladesh a huge defeat. While Kuldeep was one of the pick of the bowlers for India, Bumrah once again stole the show with his brilliant spell of 2/13 off his 4 overs.
