New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday lauded TV9 Network’s historic Indian Tigers and Tigresses initiative at the ‘What India Thinks Today’ (WITT 2025) Global Summit in New Delhi. The third edition of WITT will be held at the Bharat Mandapam in Delhi on March 28 and 29. Hailing the young football champions, PM Modi said that he felt lucky to be in the presence of the kids who would be travelling to Austria for football training.
Ahead of PM Modi’s keynote address, all the kids were invited to the stage where they got an opportunity to shake hands with the Prime Minister and later click a photo too. PM Modi extended his good wishes and also blessed all the young kids in their future endeavours. Further speaking about the News9’s Indian Tigers and Tigresses, PM Modi said that he was glad to witness the total number of registrations for the football scouting event, which was 50,000, and lauded all the participants for their efforts and their dreams of making it big in life.
Young kids will be beneficiaries of ‘Viksit Bharat’: PM Modi
Before culminating his keynote address, PM Narendra Modi highlighted the government’s ‘Viksit Bharat’ mission saying that the kids will be the biggest beneficiaries when India becomes Viksit Bharat in 2047. Viksit Bharat is the government’s vision to transform the country into a self-reliant and prosperous economy by 2047, which involves economic, social, technological and infrastructure growth.

Meanwhile, as part of the path-breaking initiative, India’s top young football talent was unearthed from every nook and corner of the country and after a series of rigorous trials, which were conducted across different states in India, a final list of candidates was selected for further training in the sport under the best European facilities.
The initiative began with as many as 50,000 registrations from children in the age group of 12-14 and 15-17, and was pruned to 10,000 (7,000 boys and 3,000 girls). Out of scores of young boys and girls, only 28 have been chosen to fly to Austria where they will get an opportunity to train with the best facilities starting from March 30.
