India’s manufacturing sector is a global leader in machinery, automotive, and defence, said Richard Chen, Director General (DG) of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre, and emphasised that a remarkable transformation is taking place in different sectors and that Taiwan is proud to partner India. The Taiwanese pavillion in IMTEX 2025 is called Taiwan Excellence. It offers Indian companies opportunities to explore advanced manufacturing tools from more than a dozen Taiwanese brands.
Chen was addressing the media at IMTEX 2025 in B, a leading global machine tool show event. “India’s manufacturing sector is a global leader in machinery, automotive, and defence, undergoing a remarkable transformation with Industry 4.0 and IoT. Taiwan is proud to be a trusted partner in this journey, offering advanced automation and machine tools solutions that enhance efficiency and align with the ‘Make in India’ initiative,” stated Chen. Explaining their role in the event, the Director General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre said, they were showcasing cutting-edge products from renowned Taiwanese brands. He added that these could enable Indian manufacturers to improve in the days ahead and that Taiwan and India could hold hands for achieving progress through innovation “driving advancements in machinery and automation for a brighter future.”
Securing position in innovation in future
“We aim to solidify our role as a global leader in innovation, foster meaningful partnerships with Indian manufacturers, and contribute to the growth of the India manufacturing industry. By introducing transformative machine tool technologies, we hope to inspire a new era of industrial excellence and collaboration between Taiwan and India,” said Chan. The president of the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) M G Balakrishna said that bodies such as FKCCI are keen to make collaboration deals with Taiwan Excellence and similar collective efforts. These can facilitate exchange of knowledge and promote joint ventures, not to speak of facilitate industrial growth. “The cutting-edge tools unveiled today will help Indian companies enhance operational efficiency, improve product quality, and adopt sustainable practices, enabling them to stay competitive in a dynamic global market,” Balakrishna told the media.
