Premier League in particular has taken the game to a level of art and all of this could soon be making a mark on Indian soil as Manchester United are expected to come up with a training centre to be set up in Tamil Nadu.

The English club is hoping to encash and attract more eyeballs. The Premier League is one of the most followed and popular team sports competitions in the world.

According to media reports, some of the top officials from the club met the Tamil Nadu industry at Davos during the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2025 and discussed the possibility of setting up a football centre most likely in Chennai Tamil Nadu. Sources also have said that Man United wishes to bring a global level of football training to Tamil Nadu, with a lot of focus on women’s football.
There have been many football clubs who have partnered with Indian clubs, including Rangers in Bengaluru, Borussia Dortmund in Hyderabad, Fiorentina in Pune and Atletico Madrid in Kolkata, which had led to the Atletico De Kolkata’s participation in the initial seasons of ISL. However, it is the first time in the country that a big club is collaborating through a training centre.
Despite the craze for football, the infrastructure for the game in the subcontinent country hasn’t been up to the high standard it requires. However, such an initiative from a big club like Manchester United could bring global attention to the football talent in India.
