New Delhi: India’s double Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker wished Neeraj Chopra a speedy recovery as she reacted to the javelin star’s revelation that he competed with a fractured hand at the Brussels Diamond League. Neeraj missed out on the top spot by a whisker in men’s javelin throw at the Brussels Diamond League as he finished second with his best effort of 87.86m.
Neeraj ended up missing out on the title by a mere 1 cm as Grenada’s Anderson Peters grabbed the top spot with a throw of 87.87m in his very first attempt. With the second-place finish at the Brussels Diamdon League, Neeraj ended an eventful season where he witnessed a fair share of ups and downs.
In a heartfelt post on social media, Neeraj opened up on his injury struggles as he revealed he had fractured the fourth metacarpal in my his left hand before taking field in Brussels last week. Nonetheless, he decided to compete in the final and earned a second-place finish.
Reacting to his post, Manu, who competed with Neeraj at the Paris Olympics 2024, congratulated the Olympic silver medallist for a fantastic season and wished him more success in the future. “Congratulations @Neeraj_chopra1 on a fantastic season in 2024.
