Matt & Jeff Hardy return to WWE for NXT match against No Quarter Catch Crew

New Delhi: Matt and Jeff Hardy are heading back to WWE for a special appearance on NXT. The legendary tag team, currently the TNA Tag Team Champions, have confirmed they will compete on the February 25 edition of NXT. Their opponents? No Quarter Catch Crew’s Myles Borne and Tavion Heights, who threw down the challenge.

This will mark the Hardys’ first WWE match in nearly five years. Their last run in the company ended in 2019 when they won the SmackDown Tag Team Championship before Matt left in 2020. Jeff remained for another year but exited WWE in December 2021. Since then, both have been part of AEW and TNA, where they currently hold tag team gold.

Hardy Boyz accept challenge for WWE NXT match

On the February 18 episode of NXT, No Quarter Catch Crew confronted NXT Tag Team Champions Nathan Frazer and Axiom. However, instead of targeting them, Borne and Heights called out a team they considered the best—The Hardy Boyz.

Matt and Jeff later responded in a video on X, with Matt appreciating the challenge while Jeff wasted no time accepting it. The match was quickly confirmed, setting up a high-profile clash between the TNA Tag Team Champions and the rising stars of NXT.

This move comes as part of WWE’s recent partnership with TNA, which allows talent exchanges between the two companies. It means that, despite not being under a WWE contract, The Hardy Boyz will step inside a WWE ring once again.

Their return adds extra excitement to an already stacked NXT card, which will also see the WWE debut of Ricky Saints, formerly known as Ricky Starks in AEW. With big names and fresh matchups, WWE fans have plenty to look forward to on February 25.
