Mayank Yadav, Nitish Reddy make India debuts in 1st T20I vs Bangladesh

New Delhi: Pace sensation Mayank Yadav and star all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, who both made heads turn during the IPL earlier this year, received their maiden caps for Team India on Sunday. They will be featured in the playing eleven of the Indian team that takes on Bangladesh in the 1st T20I of the three-match series scheduled in Gwalior. The two youngsters are expected to go full throttle against the Bangla Tigers

It is noteworthy that the last time before today, two under-23 players made their T20I debuts for Team India in the same match, was against Australia in Adelaide in January 2016 when current stalwarts Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya got their maiden caps.

Pandya is very well a part of the current squad, being one of the prime all-rounders for the team. He returns from the Sri Lanka series like most of his teammates but Bumrah is rested for the series to gear up for the upcoming three-match home Test series against New Zealand.

Playing XI for 1st T20I

To take on the Bangladesh team in the 1st T20I, the Indian management has left out Jitesh Sharma, Tilak Varma, Ravi Bishnoi, and Harshit Rana. The rest of the players are a part of the playing eleven including two new faces Mayank and Nitish. Playing for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Mayank sent shockwaves across the world with his ferocious pace as he clocked 150 kmph like a cakewalk.

The pace gun was soon ruled out of the remainder of the tournament sustaining an injury and has been on the sidelines ever since. He was monitored by the Indian medical staff who fast-tracked his recovery process to get him game ready for the three-match series. Meanwhile, Nitish Reddy, who made headlines for Sunrisers Hyderabad earlier this year, was expected to enter the Indian setup after being clinical with both, bat and ball.
