New Delhi: Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé’s younger brother, Ethan Mbappé has missed the last few games for LOSC Lille after being out with a leg injury. Lille manager Bruno Génésio has confirmed in his pre-match press conference that the 17-year-old might be fit enough to be involved in the club’s next league game against French side Le Havre AC on Saturday, 28th September, 2024.
During his conference, Génésio was heard saying on Mbappé’s return, “It’s obviously good, it’s an area of the pitch where we really need [support].” The club are currently going through an injury crisis and are missing several key players and severely missed the 17-year-old at this time. Génésio is currently without senior players like Samuel Umtiti, Nabil Bentaleb, Ismaily, Ngal’ayel Mukau and Hakon Haraldsson with no return timeline.

The injuries have had an effect on the club’s on-field performances as they are currently in the midst of a five game winless streak. They drew against RC Strasbourg in the previous game and lost the other four and would be hoping that Mbappé’s return will help them put an end to this abysmal run of form. If Mbappé can get some game time under his belt against Le Havre AC, he might be fit enough to start against Real Madrid next Wednesday.

As Lille welcome Real Madrid in their second league stage fixture of the UEFA Champions League, the game was being billed as the Battle of the Mbappé’s. While Kylian left PSG to fulfill his dream of playing for Real Madrid, his younger brother decided to remain in France and continue his development, leaving PSG for Lille. While Ethan faces a race against time to get fit enough to face his brother’s club, the two won’t face each other.
Kylian Mbappé has had a fantastic start to his Real Madrid career as he’s already won a trophy and scored seven goals for the club. However, in his most recent appearance for Los Blancos, the forward asked to be replaced with 10 minutes remaining following discomfort in his left leg. Further tests showed that Kylian suffered an injury to the femoral biceps of his left leg, forcing him to be out of action for the next three weeks, which means he won’t participate in the clash with Lille.
The Frenchman has recently returned to training and is facing a race against time to become fit for his club’s next UEFA Champions League game. Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
