New Delhi: India ace batter Virat Kohli celebrated his 36th birthday on November 5 (Tuesday), receiving warm wishes from all over the world. However, this birthday was a lowkey affair for Kohli and his family as the star batter was not with Team India, which usually follows the tradition of cake smash on the face during an ongoing series. The Indian team currently prepares for the Border Gavaskar Trophy and Kohli chose to stay with his family on his 36th.
In a recent event, he described how he celebrated turning “a year older” with his wifey and the two kids by his side. Kohli didn’t make any public appearances on his special day and also stayed away from social media. Attending the event post-birthday, Kohli revealed how he celebrated the birthday with his family. He also called it the most chilled-out birthday he has ever had, spending precious time with his wife and kids at home.
“I don’t know about being wiser, but I’m older for sure. This was probably the most chilled-out birthday I’ve had through all these years. It was just Anushka (Sharma) and our two kids at home. It was very relaxed,” Kohli revealed to host Gaurav Kapoor at the event.
He also added that despite being his birthday, the day was more for his daughter Vamika, like a typical father. “The birthday was basically for my daughter. Happens so when you have kids,” Kohli remarked.

Kohli’s low run of form
The batting stalwart didn’t have the best of the New Zealand series as he wasn’t even able to cross the 100-run mark combinedly in the six innings. His dismal form has been tagged as one of the major reasons for India’s loss in the series. India are set to travel to Australia next and the cricket pundits and the fans are keeping their expectations high to see a roaring comeback of Kohli, the fiery form which he is well-known for while playing Down Under.
India’s chances for a World Test Championship (WTC) final spot are currently under danger after losing three Tests on the to against the Kiwis. Statistically, they have to clinch four games out of the five-Test BGT series, for which Kohli’s bright form is crucial.
