New Delhi: After a gap of 10 years, MS Dhoni and Ravichandran Ashwin were reunited at the Chennai Super Kings preparations camp ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, beginning on March 22. Ashwin and Dhoni are part of CSK’s folklore due to their successful tenure at the franchise. Both players were part of the CSK team that won successive IPL titles in 2010 and 2011.

The off-spinner will make his much-awaited return to Super Kings in the upcoming IPL 2025. He was bought by the Chennai-based franchise for a whopping Rs 9.75 crore rupees at the 2025 mega-auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Ashwin was released by Rajasthan Royals ahead of the IPL 2025 mega-auction where CSK signed the off-spinner after winning the bidding war against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and RR.

Ashwin’s return to Chepauk will see him reunite with Dhoni and former India bowling partner Ravindra Jadeja. In a bid for a record-breaking sixth title, CSK have already started their preparations with MS Dhoni, captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and others arriving at the team base camp.

Fans get nostalgic after Ashwin, Dhoni reunion

The Yellow Army posted a video on their social media handle X showing Dhoni and Ashwin heading onto the field for practice. CSK fans went nostalgic after watching the duo together on the field and remembered the glory days.

Ashwin had earlier spoken about his return to CSK and remembered the 2011 auction when the franchise went all in for him.

“They say life is a circle. I played for them from 2008 to 2015. I am always indebted to them. Whatever I learnt at CSK then has propelled me this far in international cricket. It’s been 10 years since I played for CSK.”

CSK will open their IPL 2025 campaign with a blockbuster clash against Mumbai Indians at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk on March 23.

Ravichandran Ashwin’s return to the Chennai Super Kings will see him reunite with MS Dhoni and former India bowling partner Ravindra Jadeja.  Cricket Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
