New Delhi: Musheer Khan, brother of Sarfaraz Khan, had a memorable Duleep Trophy debut on Thursday as he hit a sensational century in India A vs India B match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. Musheer’s unbeaten hundred representing Indian B took the side to a satisfactory 202/7 against India A, at stumps on the opening day of the four-day contest.
After India B lost skipper Abhimanyu Easwaran (13) and prolific batter Yashasvi Jaiswal (30) early on in the innings, Musheer came to the rescue and carried on the responsibility of team single handedly on his shoulders. As wickets kept falling from the other end like a pack of cards, Musheer stay strong and delivered for his side in his first game of Duleep Trophy.
Musheer smashes terrific century
When stumps were called, the flamboyant batter was 105 not out off 227 deliveries, including 10 boundaries and two huge sixes. Musheer and Navdeep Saini (29 not out, 74b, 4×4, 1×6) fought back for India B with a stand of 108 for the eighth wicket. Musheer had a slice of fortune when Avesh dropped a regulation chance off his own bowling when the batter was on 69 and he didn’t look behind from then. The Mumbai lad, also had a wonderful Under-19 World Cup and a terrific Ranji Trophy season.

Meanwhile, Musheer’s brother Sarfaraz could not stay long on the crease as he departed for just 9 while Rishabh Pant also failed to show up as he just managed 7 runs. Nitish Reddy and Washington Sundar registered ducks. For India A, Khaleel Ahmed, Akash Deep and Avesh Khan picked up two wickets each.
