Beirut: The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have called on residents of neighborhoods in Beirut’s Dahieh region to immediately evacuate. The warning comes ahead of planned strikes targeting Hezbollah’s strategic weapons hidden beneath civilian buildings. The strikes are part of an extensive aerial operation aimed at dismantling Hezbollah’s military infrastructure.
Strikes to Target Underground Weapon Storage in Civilian Areas
Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, the IDF spokesperson, highlighted that Hezbollah has embedded its missile arsenal under three buildings in Dahieh, including in the Al Salam and Monir Shadid complex building and Sheit Building. The IDF claims that Hezbollah’s positioning of these weapons in densely populated areas puts Lebanese civilians at grave risk.
He said, “In the last hour, we have contacted the residents of the three buildings in Dahieh. These residents are near and above Hezbollah strategic assets and must evacuate immediately for their safety and security.”
The IDF has directly contacted residents living above Hezbollah’s weapon storage locations, urging them to move to safety. With strikes imminent, the potential for destruction and collapse of these buildings remains high. Residents of the Hadath, Laylaki, and Elhadad neighborhoods are specifically urged to evacuate as their homes sit above hidden Hezbollah missiles.
Hezbollah’s Maritime Threat Exposed
Hagari also revealed that Hezbollah has developed an anti-ship missile arsenal, supplied by Iran, which threatens global maritime shipping routes and Israeli vessels. The arsenal includes missiles stored in underground facilities within the civilian areas of Beirut.
Recalling past incidents, the IDF cited the 2006 Second Lebanon War, when Hezbollah successfully targeted Israeli naval vessels, resulting in casualties and sinking of an Egyptian merchant ship. The latest strikes, said Hagari, aim to neutralize similar threats.

“The war is with Hezbollah, not with the people of Lebanon,” Hagari said, mentioning that Israel’s operations aim to protect its civilians while urging Lebanese residents to move away from Hezbollah facilities for their safety.
