Mumbai: Following successful performances in Mumbai, Germany, and Kolkata, the critically acclaimed musical play ‘My Name is Jaan’, starring Arpita Chatterjee, is now heading to Delhi. The show will take place on 18th January 2025 at the Shri Ram Centre for Performing Arts, promising an evening of music, history, and powerful storytelling.
Directed by Abanti Chakraborty, this 90-minute solo performance brings to life the extraordinary story of Gauhar Jaan, the first Indian artist to record on a gramophone. Through Arpita’s compelling portrayal, the play delves into Gauhar’s journey—from her rise to fame in colonial India to the personal and societal challenges she faced.
