New Delhi: The Vande Bharat Express is one of the most sough-after trains in the country for the many benefits it offers to the passengers. This medium to long-distance semi-high speed superfast express service operated by Indian Railways has become extremely popular among the general population of the country. The coaches of the Vande Bharat are reserved and air-conditioned and the train has reduced the journey time between different cities of the country. The train was a part of the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative and entered commercial service on February 15, 2019.
A new Vande Bharat on the cards
In the last few years, the Indian government has launched several Vande Bharat Express trains on different routes for the benefit of the common people. Now, there is going to be a new Vande Bharat Express train which will connect Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh with Raipur in Chhattisgarh, covering 410 km in 7 hours. The West Central Railway has sent the proposed train timetable to the Railway Board.
The route of the train
The new Vande Bharat Express will run from Jabalpur to Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh and it will go via Gondia, a city in Maharashtra. Currently, only one express train runs on this route. The Vande Bharat train will offer a shorter, faster alternative to the existing 500 km, 12-hour route. This will be of special benefit to the passengers of Seoni, Mandla and Balaghat, all cities in Madhya Pradesh. Apart from this, passengers going to Nagpur will also find the train beneficial.
How long will the train take to complete the journey?
The West Central Railway has sent the proposed timetable of the new Vande Bharat train to the Railway Board. According to to the proposal, the train will leave from Jabalpur at 5 am and will reach Raipur at 11:55 am. During the return journey, the train will leave Raipur at 1:20 pm and reach Jabalpur at 8:15 pm. The train will complete the journey between Jabalpur and Raipur in 7 hours. This will save people’s time and they will be able to their destination quickly.
This new train will help in establishing better connectivity between Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. It will boost trade and tourism between the two states.
