New Video Shows Shooter Had Trump’s Face in Crosshairs During Assassination Attempt

A newly surfaced video has revealed chilling details about the attempted assassination of US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, depicting the moment the shooter aimed directly at Trump’s head with precision.

The video, shared by US journalist Mario Nawfal on social media platform X, shows Trump narrowly avoiding the sniper’s shot by tilting his head to look at a screen graphic just moments before the gunman, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, opened fire. The footage captured the crosshairs perfectly centered on Trump’s head seconds before the shot was fired.

According to Nawfal, “New footage shows Trump dodging a perfectly aimed shot. Close-up footage reveals Thomas Crook’s shot was perfectly centered on Trump’s head… The footage was captured just seconds before the shot.”

The shooting occurred during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where Crooks fired from an exposed rooftop approximately 150 meters away from the stage where Trump was addressing the crowd. The incident resulted in Trump sustaining a minor ear injury and claimed the life of a rally attendee. Crooks was subsequently shot dead by Secret Service snipers.

In response to the incident, President Joe Biden has ordered an independent review of the Secret Service’s handling of the assassination attempt. The Department of Homeland Security and the FBI are also investigating the incident as a potential case of domestic terrorism.

The Secret Service, responsible for protecting major election candidates among others, faces scrutiny over its security protocols following the attack.
