New Delhi: NTPC Green, also known as NGEL (NTPC Green Energy Limited), announced a quarterly result on Wednesday after market hours. The company has registered a 255% increase in its net profit from the previous fiscal year. With Rs 233 crores as a net profit in the January-March quarter, the shares of the company rallied 11% on Dalal Street.
NTPC Green NTPC Green is a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC, which is a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise. NTPC Green was incorporated in April 2022 to carry out the renewable energy business of NTPC which, as the name indicates, is a thermal [ppower producer.
NTPC Green Quarterly Results
The Q4 revenue from operations stood at Rs 622 crore, seeing a steady increase of around 23% from the December quarter earnings of Rs 505 crore. The EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax deductions, and amortization) earnings for the quarter charted at Rs 560 crore, up from Rs 436 crore (28.4%) from the last fiscal corresponding quarter.
For FY25, its profit rose over 39% to Rs 475 crore from ₹342.8 crore in the previous fiscal year, FY24.
NTPC Green Stock
NTPC Green debuted on the market on November 27, 2024, at around Rs 121. The price band decided for the company was Rs 108. The stock has seen both the highs and lows, reaching an all-time high of Rs 155 and as low as Rs 87 in February 2025.
The stock has been trading modestly, as it is a mere 4% higher than its IPO listing price of Rs 108. Investors are bullish on the stock provided NTPC Green’s commitment to green energy targets and its strong fundamentals and keynote positioning of the company in the green energy mix targets of India.

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC, is at the forefront of NTPC’s green energy initiatives, aiming to achieve 60 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2032. NGEL focuses on renewable energy projects, including solar and wind power, and also ventures into green hydrogen and energy storage technologies. As of late 2023, NTPC had 3.4 GW of installed renewable energy capacity and over 22 GW in the pipeline.
