Olympics gold medallist Imane Khelif names Elon Musk, JK Rowling in cyberbullying lawsuit

New Delhi: Algerian boxer and Olympic gold medallist Imane Khalif has named Tesla owner Elon Musk and famous British author JK Rowling in a cyberbullying lawsuit.

As per the variety report, her criminal complaint was filed to French authorities over alleged acts of aggravated cyber harassment. The 25-year-old became a victim of social media harassment after her first fight against Italian boxer Angela Carini.

The bout got over in 46 seconds and the Italian athlete said that she “never felt a punch like this”. Khelif won the gold medal in the women’s welterweight event in Paris, becoming Algeria’s first woman boxer to win a gold medal in the Olympics.

Her lawyer Nabil Boudi said that Elon Musk and JK Rowling are named in the lawsuit “JK Rowling and Elon Musk are named in the lawsuit, among others. Trump tweeted, so whether or not he is named in our lawsuit, he will inevitably be looked into as part of the prosecution”.

She also said that more people could be added if the case goes to court. “What we’re asking is that the prosecution investigates not only these people but whoever it feels necessary. If the case goes to court, they will stand trial” Boudi added.

After winning the gold medal at the Paris Olympics 2024, Khelif said that I’m a woman and there’s no doubt about that. She also said that athletes were in the Olympics to perform for the crowd and families and hoped that these attacks wouldn’t happen again in big events.

“Now the whole world knows the story of Imane Khelif. It’s a dream for every athlete. If I qualify or not? If I’m a woman or not? I made many statements in the media. I’m fully qualified, I’m a woman, I was born a woman, I lived a woman, there’s no doubt about that” Khelif said.
