Paris Olympics 2024, India’s Day 8 Schedule: Shooter Manu Bhaker eyes historic third medal

New Delhi: Manu Bhaker is on the verge of creating history on Day 8 of the Paris Olympics 2024. The 22-year-old has a chance to win her third Olympic medal when she takes part in the women’s 25m pistol event final.

Manu opened India’s account with a bronze medal in the 10m air pistol event. After that, she extended India’s medal tally by adding another bronze in the 10m air pistol mixed team event with Sarabjot Singh.

Anantjeet Singh Naruka in the men’s skeet qualification and Raiza Dhillon and Maheshwari Chauhan in the women’s skeet qualification will start India’s campaign today. Shubhankar Sharma and Gaganjeet Bhullar will also feature in the men’s individual stroke play round 3 in golf.

Deepika Kumari and Bhajan Kaur will be in action in the women’s individual archery. Nishant Dev is set to face Marco Verde in the men’s welterweight quarter-final at the Summer Games.

Indian star Lakshya Sen has sealed his spot in the semifinals of the badminton men’s singles event on Day 7. Lakshya is the first men’s badminton player from India to enter the semi-final of the Summer Games. Women’s singles players Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu have achieved the same feat in the previous editions of the Olympics.
