Paris Olympics 2024, India’s Day 9 Schedule: Focus on shuttler Lakshya Sen & boxer Lovlina

New Delhi: After some big disappointments on Day 8 of the Paris Olympics 2024, the Indian contingent will be looking for redemption on Day 9. Shooter Manu Bhaker finished fourth in the women’s 25m pistol final event and archer Deepika Kumari also suffered a heartbreaking loss in the women’s individual semi-finals. Boxer Nishant Dev was also eliminated after his loss in the men’s 71kg quarter-final.

Shuttler Lakshya Sen, boxer Lovlina Borgohain and Indian hockey team will be in focus on Sunday. Shubankar Sharma and Gaganjeet Bhullar will kickstart the day for team India in the men’s individual stroke play round 4 in golf. Anish and Vijayveer Sidhu will also feature in the men’s 25m rapid-fire pistol qualification stage 1.

Maheshwari Chauhan and Raiza Dhillon will be in action in the women’s skeet qualification. After defeating Australia for the first time since 1972, Indian men’s hockey team will face Great Britain in the quarterfinals.

Athlete Parul Chaudhary in the women’s 3000m steeplechase round 1 and Jeswin Aldrin in the men’s long jump will be in action. Lovlina Borgohain will take on Li Quian in the women’s 75kg boxing quarter-final.

After defeating Indonesia’s Jonatan Christie and Chinese Taipei’s Chou Tien Chen, shuttler Lakshya Sen will take Viktor Axelsen in the men’s singles semi-finals. A medal will be assured if Lovlina and Lakshya win their respective matches.
