Paris Olympics India Day 6 schedule (Aug 1): Swapnil in shooting final; badminton knockouts begin

India’s Olympics 2024 schedule, medal events on Day 6: All eyes will be on Swapnil Kusale, India’s next meal hope in shooting, ready to make more shooting history at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Manu Bhaker’s two medals in shooting (individual and mixed team event) remain the only ones for India in the 33rd edition of the Summer Olympics and Kusale has the opportunity to add to the tally today. The Maharashtra shooter will compete in the 50m Rifle Three Positions final.

Ace shuttlers PV Sindhu, Lakshya Sen, and men’s doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty, who registered comfortable victories on Day 5, will feature in their respective pre-quarterfinals as badminton knockout kicks off today (Thursday).

Today also marks the beginning of the track and field events in Paris with Indian athletes Akshdeep, Vikash and Paramjeet Singh featuring in the Men’s 20km Race Walk Final while Priyanka Goswami competing in the Women’s 20m Race Walk Final.

Meanwhile, the Indian hockey team will take on Belgium in their final group-stage match. The Harmanpreet Singh-led side has already entered the quarterfinals.

In boxing, superstar pugilist Nikhat Zareen will face Yu Wu of China in the Flyweight pre-quarterfinal.
