New Delhi: Dabang Delhi registered a narrow victory over Bengal Warriorz while Haryana Steelers defeated Gujarat Giants in the second clash of Thursday at the GMCB Indoor Stadium in Gachibowli, Hyderabad. Delhi’s Ashu Malik was on a roll as he powered his side to a 33-30 win over Bengal while the Steelers capitalised on the early lead and massively beat the Giants 35-22.
It was Malik’s seventh Super 10 in eight matches and Delhi’s win was also contributed by Vinay and Ashish who helped their side win the contest and end their four-match losing run. For Bengal Warriorz, Nitin Dhankar took 15 points. They kickstarted the game on the front foot as Maninder Singh and Fazel Atrachali scored a bonus and a tackle point each.
But they were just not able to handle the pressure as Dabang Delhi KC remained steady in making progress. Ashish helped Delhi level the scoreline and a couple of mistakes from the Warriorz gave Delhi the lead. When the first half was about to end, Delhi led by six points as they inflicted an ALL-OUT on the Bengal team to lead the game 19-13.
Dhankar went on to pick his Super 10 early in the second half and was keeping the Bengal Warriorz engaged almost singlehandedly. Delhi continued their exploits in the second half as Ashu and Vinay entered the party. Meanwhile, Bengal lacked support as Nitin was the only aggressor. At the end, he managed 15 points and took the gap down to four points. But Malik completed his Super 10 to take his team over the line.

Haryana strolls past Gujarat
For the Haryana Steelers, Vinay turned out to be the start of their win, taking nine raid points. Steelers took an early lead against Gujarat to make their life tough. Although Guman Singh played an all-rounder’s role, he did not receive enough support from his teammates. On the other hand, Vinay made some imposing raids and managed eight touch points at the end of the first half, taking the score to 18-13 at the half-time stage.

Haryana constantly maintained the pressure on Gujarat in the second half as the audience witnessed some do-or-die raids. Balaji D scored a point to get Jaya Soorya for the Steelers while Jaideep dismissed Himanshu Singh. Guman was the lone warrior for Gujarat as they faced their first ALL-OUT with two minutes left on the clock. Except for Vinay’s nine raid points, Mohammadreza Shadloui managed six points, ensuring a comfortable win for the Steelers.
