New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday, called Haryana ‘the medal factory of India’, praising the athletes from the state for putting up a tremendous show at the international events. On the sidelines of a vibrant election rally in Sonipat, PM Modi highlighted the significant contributions of the state for India at big events like the Olympics and Paralympics.
The Indian contingent made the country proud recently at the Paris Paralympics after a they clinched a record 29 medals, bettering their previous record of 19 medals earned at the Tokyo Paralympics three years backs. Meanwhile, at the Paris Olympics, India bagged a total of 6 medals, which included five bronze and one silver.

India aims to host 2036 Olympics: PM Modi
PM Narendra Modi also discussed about India’s aspirations to host the 2036 Olympic Games, saying that this would provide ample opportunities for the youth of the state. PM Modi also said that the BJP had established India’s third Sports University at Sonipat and also shared that the party is on the cusp of setting up Olympic nurseries in every district of Haryana.
Haryana is gearing up for the elections on October 5 and these announcements aim to give support from the electorate in the 22 constituencies.
