New Delhi: As we head towards the 2024-25 premier league season, there are certain premier league stars and the newcomers who will be heading into the season with a very good form. Few of the players had a wonderful Euro campaign while others had their breakout seasons at their previous clubs. These players would certainly look to make an impression in the English top flight football against some of the best players in the world.
Premier league has seen some great players moving to England’s top flight competition as the English sides were looking busy throughout the summer transfer window. There are certain signings who might prove to be vital for their sides after producing some good performances for their previous clubs, while some premier league players had a wonderful Euro camapaign and look set to perform for their side in the English top flight.
Cody Gakpo

The Dutch attacker had a great Euro campaign with his natonal side, as he was without their player of the campaign. The 25 year old looked like a massive threat whenever he was on the ball and he eventually proved to be a wonderful asset for Ronald Koeman’s Dutch side. Gakpo managed to get four goal involvements, scoring three and and also providing an assist throughout the Euro campaign. However, he has had his fair share of ups and downs for this Liverpool side ever since he signed for the Reds in the beginning of 2023.
Gakpo had a more than decent 2023-24 campaign as he had 13 goal involvements in 35 appearances for the Reds. The Dutch international was much more influential on the pitch, playing upfront as a striker. He looked good combining with other attackers around him and he will be looking to get his numbers up in the next season.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

One of the surprising picks from this list would be Chelsea’s newest signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall who is fresh off from a great championship campaign with Leicester City. The English midfielder had 26 goal involvements where he scored 12 times while also providing 14 assists as a central midfielder for the Leicester side as he helped them win the EFL and return to English top flight football. Now, he will be looking to carry that wonderful form as a Chelsea player this season.
Still just 25, Dewsbury Hall certainly has a lot to prove, playing for a big club and Enzo Maresca will be looking to get the best out of the midfielder. It might take Dewsbury Hall some time to settle into the Chelsea system, but he will be looking to make an impact for the Blues.
Savio

Manchester City have just signed a Brazilian gem by the name of Savio. The 20-year-old winger was loned out to Girona, where he had his breakout campaign having a total of 19 goal contributions in Laliga. The Brazilian scored nine goals while his playmaking skills were also on top, providing 10 assists throughout the 2023-24 Laliga campaign as he was one of the main reason behind Girona’s successful campaign. Savio has proven himself as a sensational talent, who is versatile on the pitch and has all the ingredients to become an exceptional winger.
This signing can turn out to be a major uplift for City as Savio has the flair and confidence with the ball at his feet, something that Pep is a massive fan of. It would be interesting to see how this player would help the English champions in their attempts to defend their title.
Eberechi Eze

Eberechi Eze has been a wonderful asset for the Crystal Palace side, as the 26-year-old has been at the club for the past four seasons. He has been one of their talismen ever since he made his move from Oueens Park Rangers back in 2020-21 season. Eze has proven himself in the past and there is no doubt about the fact that he is one of the most technically gifted English players in the world right now. He made a total of 27 league appearances for Palace last time around, scoring 11 times throughout the campaign.
Eze is still linked with a few big clubs including the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal, but it seems likely that the Englishman will remain at his current club.
Riccardo Califiori

The Italian defender has had a wonderful few months, first with the Bologna side where he helped them clinch the champions league spot for the very first time in their history, that earned him a call for the Euros. Calafiori has looked like a solid traditional defender who recently signed with Arsenal in this summer transfer window. He has received a lot of praise lately for his Serie A performances and despite Italy exiting the campaign early, the 22-year-old formed a formidable partnership with Alessandro Bastoni.
He looks set to perform for Arsenal as the Gunners’ backline looks even more solid after the addition of the Italian youngster. It would be interesting to see how he performs alongside William Saliba, who many think is the best defender in the world right now.
